Edgar A. Eubel unfolds his world of images in large-format compositions. At first glance, the viewer might think of abstract expressionism, but at a second glance the viewer discovers something concrete. Two legs that seem to belong to a figure hidden behind a colored surface, a female figure with a child in her arms - perhaps a Madonna - forms with an internal structure like microorganisms. Others are reminiscent of body parts, organs or fragments of something technical. Is it the moment after an explosion ripped everything apart? Or is it short before something new emerges from the chaos? Or is it both the eternal process of life and death together? The images themselves do not provide an answer and remain open to interpretation. You don't have to interpret them, but you can.
