NIMBUS
Nimbuses are understood as conceptual work; the artist remains anonymous in the background, allowing the work to stand on its own without any context to the person. The digital abstraction of Nimbuses, originating from photographic images, alters and creates new colors and layers, never touching the existing image contours or changing the "framework." The resulting Nimbuses multiply evolutionarily, building upon each other, descending from one another. Nimbuses arise only to a limited extent intentionally, but their composition follows a coherent order and is aesthetically motivated. The fundamental decision of when they are "finished" happens at the right moment, spontaneously and irreversibly. Their multidimensionality is reminiscent of musical compositions, just as their construction seems to be based on the static laws of a substance-less structure. They appear, in the broadest sense, composed, constructed, sometimes painted. Their colors often seem to be not included in our color spectrum, and they visually sound, perceptible as a soft noise, an imperceptible hum, but also distinctly and clearly following a melody. Nimbuses are an independent aesthetic intelligence. Most Nimbuses are designed as unique pieces; they are printed, "born," only once—a clear commitment against the theoretically possible infinite reproduction of themselves by preserving and utilizing their digital DNA. They determine the choice for their printing material (glass, paper, fabric, wood, metal, etc.) and the printing format itself.
