OLEG KANTOROVITCH

Oleg Kantorovitch

CIV I: Collapse

2009
Acrylic on board

100 x 70 cm

Oleg Kantorovitch studied graphic design at the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf. Studied psychology at the University of Düsseldorf and the University of Münster. Works as a psychologist and as a freelance illustrator.

Oleg Kantorovitch is inspired by abstract ideas, facts, art, culture, literature and science. He tries to provide a glimpse into complex imaginary worlds. His artworks tend to be stylized, eclectic and dominated by intersecting diagonal shapes.

The "CIV" series is inspired by the history of civilizations. A landscape of red cubes is a metaphor for the rise, fall and interplay of societies. Mighty towers grow, become unstable, collapse and are then built anew from the same pieces.
